Tourné en 2015, ce premier film consacré à l’approche emblématique des architectes Anne Lacaton & Jean-Philippe Vassal, tout récemment primés du Pritzker Prize, et Frédéric Druot, nous invite à un changement de regard sur les grands ensembles de logements sociaux.
Fortement opposés à la politique de démolition-reconstruction mise en place par le gouvernement français en 2003, ces architectes se sont engagés dans la transformation de ce patrimoine existant. La transformation est d’abord une manière de transformer notre regard sur la ville et l’architecture. Ce film est traversé par une conversation libre, active et intime entre ces 3 architectes et par des scènes tirées du projet de transformation de la Cité du Grand parc à Bordeaux : 530 habitations littéralement métamorphosées sont le point de départ de nouvelles façons d’habiter et de vivre dans la ville …

Shot in 2015, this first film devoted to the emblematic approach of the architects Anne Lacaton & Jean-Philippe Vassal, recently awarded the Prtizker Prize, and Frédéric Druot, invites us to a change of perspective on large social housing complexes.
Strongly opposed to the demolition-reconstruction policy implemented by the French government in 2003, these architects are committed to transforming this existing heritage. Transformation is first and foremost a way of transforming our outlook on the city and architecture. This film is crossed by a free, active and intimate conversation between these 3 architects and by scenes taken from the transformation project of the Cité du Grand parc in Bordeaux: 530 literally metamorphosed homes are the starting point for new ways of living and to live in the city …
