Ce court métrage explore l’importance de la désacralisation du patrimoine historique et la grande liberté spatiale que peuvent susciter ces lieux de mémoire. Partiellement détruit depuis la Révolution, le château de Caen est abordé ici dans son pouvoir sur nos ressentis et par sa fragilité, également. Mais que touchent en nous ces lieux à l’histoire très ancienne et désinvestis depuis si longtemps ?
Le château de Caen est un monument libre, sauvage. Libéré de son image d’autorité et de force, il laisse alors l’espace du paysage, de l’appropriation et du questionnement sur notre mémoire prendre place. En cela, l’idée même de patrimoine historique semble flotter dans l’air.

This short film explores the importance of desacralizing historical heritage and the profound spatial freedom that these places of memory can inspire. Partially destroyed since the Revolution, the Château de Caen is examined here in terms of its power over our emotions and also its fragility. But what do these places, steeped in history and abandoned for so long, evoke in us? The Château de Caen is a free, untamed monument. Liberated from its image of authority and strength, it allows the landscape, the appropriation, and the questioning of our memory to take center stage. In this way, the very idea of historical heritage seems to float in the air.
